Around Rogers Park: 18th Annual Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest August 16-18

The Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest is back again. It has become one of the community’s most anticipated summer events. RPBG’s Art Goldberg and Mary Bao are both on the 2019 Planning Committee.

As in past years, The Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest is the place to go to listen to music, check out the work of local and regional artists, and just enjoy the weekend with friends and family. This year’s event will be held on the weekend of August 17-18 with the traditional Opening Night Kick-Off Jam from 6 to 10 pm, Friday, August 16.

The 2019 event will bring together more than 120 artists-vendors, and more than 30 performers on two outdoor stages, including music, dance and theater. There will be hands-on activities for kids and a wide range of demonstrations. New this year will be jazz programming inside Le Piano, the recently opened bar/restaurant and entertainment venue on Glenwood. As always, the festival highlights the neighborhood’s incredible diversity and vibrancy, and celebrates the many artists who live and work in the community.

This event would never have become the success that it is today without the vision and commitment of Al Goldberg. We all owe him a debt of gratitude and thank him for his help in bringing the festival back for the 18th year!

The Rogers Park Builders Group is proud to be a sponsor of this event. As in past years, we are contributing $1,000 to help make it happen. Many other RPBG members are also sponsors. These include Al Goldberg, Mary Bao, Connie Abels, Alpha Adjusting Co. Inc., Bank Financial, Becovic Realty, Cagan Management Group, Inc., AGE Glenwood LLC, DLG Management, Loyola University, Rogers Park Business Alliance, Sweet Home Chicago Properties, and Wintrust Bank. Once again, Sheryl Rosenberg will be selling her beautiful cowhide purses under her company’s name – Harriet’s Hides.
